Lil' Earthlings

The Design Proposal:

Creating a fun, eye-catching, and intriguing magazine for younger children of reading age and their parents. The articles within will be easy to read and thought-provoking, with spotlight sections on extinct animals, cool plants, and newer environmental technological advances. The cover should be colourful, but with clear nature themes. Large, legible text, interesting photos, and a fun title should grab young readers' curiosity and spark conversations with fellow kids and the adults in their lives.

I've included the mood board used to aid the design process as well as some sketches with corresponding ideas for different themes. Focused on attracting a younger audience, the cover utilises typography that is both visually interesting but highly readable. Contrasting value and colour focus the attention on the magazine’s title while framing the main subject: the blue whale.
